My summer holidays officially kicked off on June 1st.. Naturally, I celebrated this glorious dawn of absolute freedom by spending the first chunk of it at my in laws’ house.. Because nothing says “carefree summer vibes” quite like smiling politely through interrogations about my housekeeping habits and nodding along to stories I’ve heard fourteen zillion times.. But alas, I have officially broken free, survived the family diplomacy, and made it back home alive.. YAYYYYYY !!!
Now, let me shake off the hospitality induced trauma, get a grip, and look out the window.
Well… the view is a bit tragic. Remember those plants I was trying to nurture.. Yeah, they’re dead. Every single one of them completely fried in this brutal, unforgiving heatwave.. RIP to my green thumb. However, word on the street is that a glorious, soul saving rain is heading our way very soon. Wherever you are reading this from.. whether you’re waking up in a brownstone in New York, a flat in London, or a cottage in the European countryside.. I think we can all agree that summer heat is a beast, and rain is the ultimate blessing.
Let’s dive into how we can romantically “slow live” through this scorching season without losing our minds.

🌟 The Spiritual Essence (Or: Clean Your Mental Desktop)
Spiritually, summer is bragging.I hate summer ..
Because the sun is shining at maximum brightness, it is currently illuminating all the obscure, messy parts of our lives. You know, the stuff we comfortably push into the dark corners of our minds while binging Netflix.. or Prime !!
- The Summer Rule: Figure out what bad habits, toxic thoughts, or ridiculous worries you don’t want to drag into Autumn..
- The Goal: Think of these next few months as your chance to close all the open, exhausting “tabs” in your brain.
- The Reality: Fix your life now, because Winter is strictly reserved for hibernating and judging people from afar.

🤰 The Female Archetype: Channel Your Inner Mother
Summer represents the Mother archetype: loving, nurturing, and annoyingly confident.
- Not Just About Babies: This energy is about birthing your own projects, art, kindness, or just attempting to keep your next batch of house plants alive.
- The Hierarchy: She’s wiser than a naive maiden, less wrinkly than a wise OLDIE, and possesses way more battery life than both combined.
- The Mission: She protects, nurtures, and deals in the currency of love. Because apparently, giving and taking love is what this chaotic simulation is actually all about.

🧊 Three Easy Ways to “Slow Live” Right Now
Since we are keeping things simple, here are three effortless ways to survive the heat without losing your zen:
- Close the Blinds: Lie on the cold floor when the afternoon sun gets too aggressive.
- Ditch the Guilt: Cancel plans that require you to sweat in public.
- Hydrate Spiritually: Drink iced coffee like your mental health depends on it.

🧘 The Art of Doing Absolutely Nothing
We are conditioned by modern hustle culture to treat summer like a high-speed race of endless barbecues, picture-perfect beach holidays, and forced outdoor joy. But true slow living means giving yourself total permission to completely opt out of the commercialized hype when the temperature spikes. There is a deep, unmatched spiritual peace in watching the chaotic world rush by from the safety of a dimly lit, air-conditioned room while wearing your softest lounge shorts. Let the laundry pile up, leave the unread emails lingering in your inbox, and allow your overstimulated brain to simply coast on standby mode—because rest is not a reward, it is a seasonal necessity.

🍂 I know many of you find summer incredibly challenging (mostly due to sweat, bugs, dead garden plants, and social obligations like ME ), but try to see the season in a different light. The long days and balmy evenings are nature’s subtle way of telling you to sit down, be present, and stop overthinking for five minutes.. ( I know its tough !! )
The Wheel of the Year never stands still.. Before we know it, the golden light will fade, the evenings will draw in, and we will be right back to complaining about the freezing cold.. For now, wear your SPF, wait for that beautiful rain, and just enjoy the vibe.
Love & Light,
DOLLY
