March To-Do List: 5 Powerful Habits to Reset Your Life Before Summer

By

Alright, listen up—March is here, and we’ve officially run out of excuses.. Winter had let us hide under oversized jumpers, devour comfort food like it was our job, and pretend that we looked cute in those heavy clothes.

But now? Now it’s just us and the harsh reality of spring. The sun is making rare but dramatic guest appearances, the air is crisp, and we can’t keep blaming “winter sluggishness” for our life choices.

So, what’s the plan? We step up. No extreme diets, no unrealistic routines—just some common sense, a little suffering, and a whole lot of getting our act together.

1. Step Up (Literally) – Get Your 12K Steps In

Look, those 8K-10K step days? Cute, but not enough anymore. March demands 12K steps, minimum.

✔ No more “I walked around the kitchen, that counts, right?” It does not count neither it’s funny anymore.

✔ Take the stairs. Walk while talking on the phone. Chase your child (or your dog, or just a random goal in life).

✔ Power walk through the streets like you’re the main character in a dramatic movie montage.

Your future summer self is either going to thank you or suffer miserably—choose wisely.Remember how you will look in shorts or cute little dresses..

Bonus Tip: If walking bores you, listen to a true crime podcast.. Nothing makes you move faster than hearing about someone who didn’t…

2. Bread & Sugar – A Necessary Intervention

Winter made us believe that eating an entire loaf of bread in one day was acceptable. It was cold. We were hungry. It made sense. But now? Now it’s just a problem.

✔ You don’t have to give up carbs—just maybe don’t eat them like they’re an endangered species. (Shocking, I know.)

But since I personally consume bread like it’s a basic survival instinct, let’s all pretend we’re in this together !!

✔ Swap a sugary snack for an actual fruit (yes, your body still remembers what those are).

✔ Stop treating biscuits like a food group. (I say this with love.)

No diets, no suffering—just calming down a little. Because if you don’t start now, your summer jeans or those lovely beautiful dresses are going to have some very strong opinions.

3. Declutter Your Life (Yes, Even Your Phone Addiction)

Spring cleaning isn’t just about your wardrobe (which, let’s be real, needs serious attention). It’s also about clearing out all the unnecessary chaos in your life.

Home Detox: That “I might need this one day” pile? You won’t. Toss it.

Phone Detox: Unfollow people who annoy you. Delete apps you don’t use.

8PM-8AM phone-free time is back.. If you remember so : Stick to it.

Mind Detox: Stop saying yes to things you don’t actually want to do. Protect your energy like it’s the last good biscuit in the tin.

The less clutter, the more sanity. You’ll thank me later.

4. The “Debloating Before Summer” Mission

We’ve all been there—lying in bed, regretting every food decision of the day, wondering if our stomach is full or just permanently inflated. Something which happens to me every 3-4 days in a month.. So :

Hydrate like your life depends on it (because it does).

✔ Eat actual greens before your body forgets what they look like.

✔ Maybe don’t eat a mountain of pasta right before bed (I know, tragic).

And please, for the love of tea, stop eating just because the food is there. Your stomach is not a storage unit.

5. Do That One Thing You Keep Avoiding

You know exactly what I’m talking about. That one thing you’ve been “too busy” (read: too lazy) to do.

✔ That appointment you’ve been meaning to book? Do it before it becomes an emergency.

✔ That one project you swore you’d start? No more lies.

✔ That cupboard you’ve been ignoring? It’s now a safety hazard. Deal with it.

No more “I’ll do it next week.” Next week is now.

If you don’t tackle it, I promise you’ll still be making excuses in June. And by then, you’ll be too busy complaining about the heat.. LIKE me !!

Last but not the LEAST : No More Excuses – March Is Your Reset Button

March isn’t waiting for you. You either get it together now, or regret it later.

✔ Move more.

✔ Eat smarter.

✔ Declutter your space and mind.

✔ Stop procrastinating.

And if you slip up? Laugh it off, reset, and keep going. No one’s judging (except maybe your tight jeans with that beautiful belly coming out 🤮😂).

Love,

Dolly

Your post stands out as it recognises that fitness and weight loss arent a one-size-fits-all journey. I love how you experimented and figured out what works for you instead of just following generic advice. It’s clear you ve put in the research and made thoughtful adjustments, which makes this post so valuable. I hope others learn from your experience as much as I did. Lots of Love & Success to you Dolly.

Loved how you kept it light yet impactful and definitely taking notes Dolly.
